After decades of stitches, friendship and care, Busy Bees and Homeline say a heartfelt thank you to Camilla Robinson.
For many years, Monday afternoons at The Creighton Centre have had a familiar rhythm: the buzz of conversation, cups of tea on the table, wool and patterns being shared, and the warmth of the Busy Bees knitting group.
At the heart of that story has been Camilla.
Camilla has been part of Busy Bees for such a long time that it is hard to imagine the group without her. From Bishop Creighton House to The Creighton Centre, she has helped keep Busy Bees running with kindness, generosity and quiet dedication.
Busy Bees has always been about much more than knitting. It has been a place where people come together to make, chat, learn from one another, share skills and feel part of something. The group has created blankets, baby clothes, scarves, gifts and fundraising items, but just as importantly it has created friendship, routine and connection.
As Camilla prepares to move away, members of Busy Bees, Homeline and The Creighton Centre came together to thank her properly. There were smiles, memories, a few emotional moments, and a very well-deserved certificate naming Camilla our “Queen of Knitting”.
Camilla’s commitment has not always been loud or showy, but it has mattered deeply. Week by week, she has helped create a group where older people feel welcomed, useful, included and valued.
We will miss Camilla very much, but her impact will remain part of the fabric of Homeline and Busy Bees.
Thank you, Camilla, for every stitch, every welcome, and every Monday afternoon you helped make special.
With love and thanks from everyone at Busy Bees, Homeline and The Creighton Centre.
