A fond farewell to Rory Gillert

Marking his retirement after 18 years of leadership

After 18 years leading The Creighton Centre, the retirement of Chief Executive Rory Gillert was marked this month with a celebratory garden party.

Since joining the organisation, Rory has provided consistent and reliable leadership, helping to guide the Centre through periods of growth, challenge and change. During his time, the Centre has expanded its services, built strong partnerships, and continued to support local people in meaningful and practical ways—despite the pressures of austerity, shifting funding landscapes, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rory’s steady approach, strategic thinking, and commitment to the Centre’s values have left a lasting impact. His leadership has helped shape the organisation and sustain its long-standing reputation as a respected and trusted presence in the community.

On behalf of the staff, trustees, volunteers, service-users and all those connected to The Creighton Centre, we would like to thank Rory for his years of service and wish him all the best in his retirement.

We look forward to welcoming Jamie Ward-Smith MBE as our new Chief Executive and to beginning this next chapter under his leadership.
