Nearly 200 local residents attended The Creighton Centre’s Health & Wellbeing Fair, bringing the community together for a day of free health advice, wellbeing activities, local support services and connection.

Early feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Of the 54 visitor feedback surveys completed, 96% rated the event as either ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’, with 70% rating it ‘Excellent’. 87% of visitors also said they felt better informed about services and support available locally following the event.
But the impact went beyond the numbers. Visitors spoke warmly about the welcoming atmosphere and, importantly, about discovering support they had not previously known was available.
One visitor commented:
“What a welcoming and inclusive place and event to come to. I’ve found out about services I’d never heard of before today and am now going to see my GP about my blood pressure check.”
Another attendee summed up the breadth of the event simply:
“It covers everything.”
And another said:
“I feel full of good food, happy feelings and the knowledge that there’s support out there.”
Feedback from the organisations taking part showed the Fair also had an important role in early intervention, signposting and partnership working. All five stallholders who provided feedback rated the event as significantly valuable both for the community and for partnership working. Four services directly signposted residents to further support on the day, while four also made new connections with other local organisations.
For Citizens Advice Hammersmith & Fulham, the event led to an especially important connection:
“A client we had lost contact with who was considered vulnerable attended the event and we were able to offer our 1:1 assessment service on-site.”
Rachael Crosbie, Senior Oral Health Promoter at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, also highlighted the benefits of bringing so many organisations together:
“Despite the weather, the event had a great atmosphere, and it was fantastic to see so many organisations coming together to support local residents.”
She added that the Fair provided a valuable opportunity to offer residents detailed help and advice, share supportive resources and signpost people to relevant services.
Jess Lawn, The Creighton Centre’s Older People’s Services Manager, said:
“We are absolutely delighted with how successful the Health & Wellbeing Fair was, particularly given the terrible weather conditions on the day. It was fantastic to see so many local residents coming together to access support, information and activities that can genuinely improve health and wellbeing.
“One of the most encouraging things was hearing from people who discovered services and support they simply didn’t know existed before attending. Events like this show just how important community spaces and partnership working are in helping residents stay healthy, connected and supported.”
The feedback has also given The Creighton Centre useful learning for future events. With so many people attending, visitors and stallholders highlighted the need for more space, additional seating and easier movement around the building.
Overall, the Fair demonstrated the difference that bringing health, council, voluntary and community services together in one accessible local setting can make: helping residents find practical support earlier, strengthening connections between organisations and making it easier for people to know where to turn when they need help.
