Love what we do? Come and lead our Board of Trustees!
After 10 years of dedicated leadership, our current Chair of Trustees Lee Smith will be stepping down later this year, and we are now seeking an exceptional individual to lead The Creighton Centre into its next chapter.
For over 100 years, The Creighton Centre has been at the heart of the Hammersmith & Fulham community, offering connection, care and opportunity to generations of local people. As we look ahead, this is a pivotal and exciting moment for the charity and the incoming Chair will play a vital role in shaping our future.
The Chair of Trustees provides strategic leadership to the Board and works closely with our new CEO to ensure strong governance, clear direction and long-term sustainability.
Over the coming period, the Board will be:
Setting the Centre’s strategic priorities
Overseeing an ambitious programme to renovate and future-proof our historic building
Supporting the charity to unlock new opportunities for community use and income generation
This is a voluntary role, with reasonable expenses reimbursed, and offers a rare opportunity to steward a much loved community organisation at a moment of renewal and growth.
We are seeking an experienced Chair (or Vice-Chair ready to step up) who brings sound judgement, collaborative leadership and a strong commitment to good governance.
You don’t need prior involvement with The Creighton Centre, but you will bring:
Senior-level board experience
The ability to lead inclusive, constructive and effective trustee discussions
A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
An appreciation of the responsibility that comes with overseeing a long-established charity with premises
Knowledge of, or connections to, Hammersmith & Fulham or West London would be particularly welcome.
We appreciate that taking on a Chair role is a significant commitment. To support potential applicants, we are very happy to offer informal conversations with either our outgoing Chair or our Chief Executive, to discuss the role, the organisation and the opportunity in more detail.
Full details and the application process can be found on CharityJob
Closing date: 15 February 2026
